EndNote includes a web-based version, which is an excellent way to backup your library. To do, you must first install the desktop account from the Library Software Page.
Once you have successfully installed and opened the desktop app:
- Go to Library--Sync
- You will be prompted to login to your existing EndNote online account. If you don't already have one, it will prompt you to create one.
- Enter your login credentials, then select sync again. At this point, it's a good idea to have EndNote web open so you can verify that Sync is working.
- To set up auto syncing (highly recommended), go to the Edit Menu--Preferences. Choose Sync, enable sync and re-enter your account credentials.
